Slightly Out Of Tune Julie London Mp3

by @ 2:19 am. Filed under Julie London

She recorded 32 albums in a career that began in 1955 with a live performance at the 881 Club in Los Angeles.[3] She was named by Billboard the most popular female vocalist for 1955, 1956, and 1957. In 1957, she was the subject of a Life cover article in which she was quoted as saying, “It’s only a thimbleful of a voice, and I have to use it close to the microphone. But it is a kind of oversmoked voice, and it automatically sounds intimate.” Please click here to download Slightly Out Of Tune Julie London Mp3

Love is like a never ending melody,
Poets have compared it to a symphony,
A symphony conducted by the lighting of the moon,
But our song of love is slightly out of tune . . . .

Once your kisses raised me to a fever pitch,
Now the orchestration doesn’t seem so rich,
Seems to me you’ve changed the tune we used to sing,
Like the bossa nova love should swing . . . .

We used to harmonize two souls in perfect time,
Now the song is different and the words don’t even rhyme,
‘Cause you forgot the melody our hearts would always croon,
What good’s a heart that’s slightly out of tune?

Tune your heart with mine the way it used to be,
Join with me in harmony and sing a song of love,
We’re bound to get in tune again before too long,
There’ll be no Desafinado when your heart belongs to me completely
Then you won’t be slightly out of tune, you’ll sing along with me!

Br-oooo-ken hearted me-eee-lo-dy
Ooooonce you were our song of love
Nooooow you just keep taunting me
Wiiiiith the memory of (ba-da-da)
His tender love

Ooooh, broken hearted melody
Must you keep reminding me
Of the lips I long to kiss
And the love I miss
Since he went away
Night and day they play
That broken hearted melody
That he used to sing to me
When our love was young and bright
As he held me tight
Suddenly I found
I was heaven bound

Brooooken hearted melody
Ooooonce you were our song of love
Nooooow you just keep taunting me
Wiiiiiith the memory of (ba-da-da)
His tender love

Ooooh, broken hearted melody
Won’t you bring him back to me
Sing to him until he yearns
For when he returns no more will he be
A broken hearted melody
Oooooooo, oo-oo
Oo-oo, oo-oo, ooooooooo
Oooooooo, oo-oo
Oo-oo, oo-oo, ooooooooo

Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend Julie London Mp3

by @ 2:02 am. Filed under Julie London

She was married to Jack Webb of Dragnet fame. Her widely-regarded beauty and poise (she was a pinup girl prized by GIs during World War II) contrasted strongly with his pedestrian appearance and streetwise acting technique (much parodied by impersonators). This unlikely pairing arose from his and her love for jazz music. Please click here to download Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend Julie London Mp3

The French are glad to die for love
They delight in fighting duels
But I prefer a man who lives
And gives expensive jewels
A kiss on the hand may be quite continental
But diamonds are a girl’s best friend.
A kiss may be grand but it won’t pay the rental
On your humble flat
Or help you at the automat.
Men grow cold as girls grow old
And we all lose our charms in the end.
But square-cut or pear-shaped
Those rocks don’t lose their shape.
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend.

There may come a time when a lass needs a lawyer
But diamonds are a girl’s best friend.
There may come a time when a hard-boiled employer
Thinks you’re awful nice
But ‘get that ice’ or else ‘no dice’.
He’s your guy when stocks are high
But beware when they start to descend.
It’s then that those louses
Go back to their spouses.
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend.

Too good to be true
That’s the way I feel about you
Wonderful you
You’re just too good to be true

I’m feeling so gay
Ever since you happened my way
Marvelous you
You’re just too good to be true

I wake each morning
Sighing your name
Noontime I do the same
Night time over again
Please be humane
I’ll go insane

A love seen again new
I have my arms right around you
Wonderful you
You’re just too good to be true

[musical interlude]

I wake each morning
Sighing your name
Noontime I do the same
Night time you still remain
Please be humane
I’ll go insane

A love seen again new
I want my arms right around you
Wonderful you
You’re just too good to be true
You’re just too good to be true
You’re just too good to be true

What’ll I do
When you are far away
And I am blue,
What’ll I do?

What’ll I do
When I am wondering who
Is kissing you,
What’ll I do?

What’ll I Do
With just a photograph
To tell my troubles to,
When I’m alone
With only dreams of you,
That won’t come true,
What’ll I Do?
